Story
Janinek is Wroclaw's most well-groomed dwarf, sporting narrow trousers, a short jacket, and a carefully trimmed beard that would make any hipster jealous. He guards the entrance to Bio-Kosmetyka at ul. Kuźnicza 57-58, a family-run beauty salon founded in 1990. Legend has it that Janinek refuses to let anyone inside unless their skin looks properly moisturised — luckily, the salon can fix that in minutes.
History & Significance
Janinek was gifted to Bio-Kosmetyka by a long-time business partner, Jadwiga Patała from Gdynia, to celebrate the salon's 25th anniversary. He takes his name from the salon's founder, Janina Skórczyńska. Bio-Kosmetyka is the exclusive Polish distributor of cosmetic brands BABOR and Living Dimension, and Janinek proudly represents that heritage of beauty expertise.
Inspiration
The dwarf's stylish appearance — narrow trousers, short jacket, trimmed beard — mirrors the modern, well-presented aesthetic of the cosmetics industry. His best friend is said to be Narcyś, another dwarf who also values good looks. The name Janinek is an affectionate diminutive of Janina, honouring the woman who built the salon from scratch into a nationally recognised brand.
