Story
Antoniusz has a broad grin, a pointed cap and a hand firmly wrapped around a long, narrow tool-like object. He looks like a dwarf with work to do and a good sense of humour about it. Murarz, another dwarf, is right next to him, so this corner of the Old Town has a little workforce.
History & Significance
Antoniusz stands at Świętego Antoniego 25 in Wrocław's Old Town. wromap.pl credits Beata Zwolańska-Hołod as the sculptor. Wrocław's bronze dwarfs grow out of the Orange Alternative, a playful, peaceful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has been filling its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.
