Story

Chlapibrzuch i Moczypięta can be found at Wilanowska 29, the Psie Pole-Zawidawie district, by the Aquapark. The photo on wromap.pl shows Chlapibrzuch in swimming goggles with a swim ring around his belly and flippers on his feet, holding hands with the fellow dwarf Moczypięta. The two dwarfs hold hands, and wromap.pl lists them as part of a group called Aquaparczki.

History & Significance

wromap.pl credits Tomasz Moczek and gives the appearance date as 5 December 2008. Wrocław's bronze dwarfs trace back to the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; the city began commissioning bronze dwarfs in 2005, and local businesses and institutions have added many more since. Chlapibrzuch i Moczypięta are among the dwarfs outside the historic centre. Who commissioned these dwarfs is not publicly documented in the sources we found.

Inspiration

A visitwroclaw.eu listing describes the pair as multiple medallists of the Dwarf Olympics, with swimming events such as splashing water on time, team bubble-blowing and a bowl race. The names play on 'chlapać' (to splash) and 'moczyć' (to soak). The sources we found do not describe a specific story behind these dwarfs.
