Story

Czimnejek sits at the base of a wall at ul. Oławska 4, clutching a round cooking pot in one arm while his other arm points ahead with a long object, as if he is about to give an order. He wears a snug cap and has a crooked, cheeky grin, and the bronze has turned dark and a little green over the years. The playful story is that he is the street's self-appointed head cook, who tastes everything first and shares the second helping with anyone who stops to say hello. Crouch down to his level and see what he is cooking up.

History & Significance

Wromap.pl credits Tomasz Moczek and gives 7 August 2020 as the date Czimnejek appeared. He stands on a short stretch of ul. Oławska with several other dwarfs, including Niespodzianek (about 3 metres away), Gaugan and Grajek i Meloman. Tomasz Moczek made the first official bronze dwarfs of 2005, so this one is a later addition from the sculptor who started the trail.
