Story

Match day never ends on Szewska. Three fan dwarfs live here: KKN-ek, WKS - Pluto and Kibic. In the photo wromap shows for the group, a bearded dwarf holds a banner over his head that reads 'ŚLĄSK WROCŁAW', arms stretched wide and a grin on his face, beside a dark red door. Join the chant, take your photo with the banner, and see if you can work out which of the three is which.

History & Significance

Wromap.pl lists the Kibice group, with the three members KKN-ek, WKS - Pluto and Kibic, at Szewska 66/67, about 215 m from the centre of the Market Square. No sculptor, date or sponsor is given. The banner reads Śląsk Wrocław, the name of the city's football club. Wikipedia lists a separate 'Kibic' dwarf at Oporowska 62, by the club's stadium, by Marcin Łuczkowski; it is not this group. The tradition behind Wrocław's dwarfs began with the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.

Inspiration

The banner reads 'Śląsk Wrocław', the city's football club, so the group celebrates its supporters. 'KKN' is probably short for Klub Kibiców Niepełnosprawnych (Club of Disabled Fans), which held a meeting on Szewska street according to a Wrocław news report, but no source confirms the link to the dwarf.
