Story

Malarz Piotruś is a tiny dwarf in a long, smock-like garment and a pointed cap. He holds a long paintbrush up in one hand and, in the other, a small flat object that looks like a painter's palette. In the photo he stands on a pale stone ledge in front of a wall of speckled stone, like an artist about to start work.

History & Significance

wromap.pl lists Malarz Piotruś at Witolda Wojtkiewicza 16 (51-639 Wrocław), credits Beata Zwolańska-Hołod as the author and gives 10 December 2015 as the appearance date. Polish Wikipedia's list of Wrocław dwarfs gives the same address and sculptor and marks the site as private property. wromap.pl also warns that access may be limited by a barrier, fence or gate. We do not know who commissioned him.

Inspiration

No source we found explains the story behind him. In Polish, malarz means painter and Piotruś is a pet form of Piotr, so the name is roughly 'Peter the Painter', and the brush in his hand matches it.
