Story
Poeta sits quietly just off the Rynek with a book open on his lap. In the photo on his wromap page he has round spectacles, tousled hair and a high-collared jacket; the book's cover is lettered with the name Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and a thoughtful gaze past the camera. He doesn't shout for attention like the dwarfs on the square. He is the kind of dwarf who is happiest when someone sits down beside him and reads a page.
History & Significance
Wromap.pl lists the dwarf as 'Poeta (Harivansh Rai Bachchan)' at Wita Stwosza 57/58, about 132 m from the centre of the Market Square, by sculptor Beata Zwolańska-Hołod. The app also has a separate entry named Harivansh Rai Bachchan only 5 m away, and the sources I found do not say whether these are the same figure, so treat the identity as unconfirmed. I could not find an unveiling date or sponsor. The tradition behind Wrocław's dwarfs began with the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.
Inspiration
The dwarf pays tribute to a poet; the lettering on the book in the wromap photo reads Harivansh Rai Bachchan, which is also the name wromap puts in brackets after Poeta. No source I found explains the connection to Wrocław, so this page does not invent one.

How to Find This Dwarf
Poeta is on ul. Wita Stwosza, at number 57/58, just off the Rynek, at pavement level. Kowal is only 3 m northeast, Harivansh Rai Bachchan is 5 m east and Kacuś is 14 m west, so the poet shares his street with several dwarfs.
