Story
Profilek is a small bronze dwarf who stands on a grey stone cube and holds a long silver-coloured profile (a rail-like bar) above his head with both hands, like a tiny weightlifter. The side of the cube carries red lettering that reads 'item'. Big rocks, white gravel and neatly trimmed little pines surround the base, and a car park stretches behind it.
History & Significance
wromap.pl lists Profilek at Kowalska 34 (51-423 Wrocław), credits Beata Zwolańska-Hołod as the author and gives 17 January 2016 as the appearance date. It warns that access may be limited by a barrier, fence or gate. We found no second source, and we do not know who commissioned him. The word 'item' is only what we read on the plinth in the photo.
Inspiration
No source we found explains the story behind him. His name echoes the Polish word profil, which can mean a profile or a section of metal, and the bar he lifts in the photo fits that, but this is our reading of the photo and the name.
