Story

Tomek Jedrzejak (also known as 'Ogor') is no ordinary dwarf — he roars to life every time a speedway bike fires up at the Olympic Stadium. This trio of bronze figures honours Tomasz Jedrzejak, the legendary captain of Sparta Wroclaw, who died tragically in 2018. The dwarf is sculpted beside two small companion figures — his trusty mechanics — ready to send him back out onto the track for one more race.

History & Significance

The dwarf was unveiled on 2 August 2019, on the eve of the Speedway Grand Prix of Poland at the Olympic Stadium (al. Paderewskiego 35). It was created by sculptor Beata Zwolanska-Hold and funded mainly through fan donations — 172 contributions that quickly raised the 8,000 PLN needed. Tomasz Jedrzejak rode for Sparta Wroclaw across multiple spells between 2002 and 2017, captaining the team for many of those seasons.

Inspiration

The idea was initiated by the journalism team of the speedway portal Po Bandzie. For Wroclaw fans, 'Ogor' was not just a rider — he was the heart of the club. The dwarf trio, with Tomek flanked by two miniature mechanics, captures the team spirit and pit-lane camaraderie that defined his career.
