Story

Troszka and her Adoratorek are Wroclaw's most endearing pair. She holds a camera up, her glasses perched on her forehead, ready to capture the world around the Market Square. He gazes at her with the devotion of someone who believes she is the most interesting sight in all of Wroclaw. The dwarf community whispers that he has been posing for her photographs since 2016 and has never once complained about the waiting.

History & Significance

Troszka i Adoratorek were installed on 29 September 2016 at Rynek 33, near the eastern side of the Market Square at the entrance to Kurzy Targ, close to the PKO BP bank. They were sculpted by Grzegorz Lagowski. The pair consists of Troszka — a female dwarf in a stylish hat, glasses raised, camera in hand — and her Adoratorek, who sits adoringly at her side. They are among the rare paired dwarfs in Wroclaw and quickly became a favourite of visitors and selfie-hunters alike.

Inspiration

The pair is thought to represent the joy of documenting city life and the bond between an artist and her greatest admirer. The Market Square setting could not be more fitting: Troszka has the whole of Wroclaw's most beautiful stage at her disposal, and Adoratorek would not have it any other way.
