Centennial Hall

The grand finale! This huge round building is the Centennial Hall, designed by Max Berg - remember Archimax? - and opened on 20 May 1913. When it was built, its concrete dome was the largest of its kind in the world, and since 2006 the Hall has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The tall steel needle standing on three legs is the Spire (Iglica), put up in 1948 for a big exhibition; it is about 90 metres tall. Autumn treasure no. 5: the Golden Spire. You did it - the dwarfs' winter pantry is full! Kids' challenge: stand by the Spire, look straight up, then show everyone the leaf you picked at the start. Bonus: two more dwarfs live inside the Zoo across the street (ticket needed).
