Old Town Hall and the Pillory

You are standing in front of the Old Town Hall, one of the most beautiful Gothic town halls in Europe, built bit by bit over about 250 years. Look up at the east wall: the big astronomical clock has been showing the time and the phases of the moon since 1580. The stone pillar right next to you is the pillory, where people who broke the town's rules were once put on show for everybody to see. Kids' challenge: find the sun and the moon on the clock face. Tip: the Town Hall is also a museum.
