Story
Bellboy is the most impeccably turned-out of all Wroclaw's dwarfs, standing to attention outside the Hotel Wroclaw on ul. Powstancow Slaskich 7b in his miniature uniform, cap tilted at precisely the right angle. He is a dwarf of few words but excellent service: he has never lost a guest's luggage, never forgotten a room number, and is said to know the name of every single visitor who has ever passed through the hotel's revolving door. Bellboy's real gift, though, is knowing when to summon a taxi and when to simply stand quietly and look capable.
History & Significance
Bellboy stands at the ibis Hotel Wroclaw (formerly Hotel Wroclaw) on ul. Powstancow Slaskich 7b, in the Krzyki district of southern Wroclaw. He is a commercial dwarf commissioned by the hotel to add a touch of local character to the entrance and reinforce the city's gnome-loving identity for hotel guests arriving from outside the region.
Inspiration
The bellboy as a character represents the golden age of hotel service -- impeccably dressed, always ready, never flustered. Placing a dwarf in this role is a characteristically Wroclaw move: even the most formal of professions gets the gnome treatment. For visitors arriving at the hotel for the first time, Bellboy is often their first encounter with the city's gnome tradition.
