Story

Akademiusz is the dwarf who loves a good crawl. He moves on all fours across a stone base at plac Solny 16, with his chin up and a huge, squinting grin spreading under his pointed cap. His bronze is dark and a little green, and he looks ready to scramble up the nearest step. The playful tale is that he is rushing to a lecture and is afraid of being late, so he does not have the patience to walk. Crouch down for a photo at his level.

History & Significance

Wromap.pl credits Marlena Zakrzewska as the sculptor. He is one of a tight group of dwarfs outside the same building on plac Solny 16, with Podatkuś Doradek only about 2 metres away and Giełduś and Długi within about 7 metres. The tradition behind them began with the Orange Alternative movement of the 1980s, and the first official bronze dwarfs were installed in 2005.
