Story
Andrzej is a bald, bearded dwarf with his head tipped back and a look of pure contentment, holding up an enormous dimpled mug in one hand. He is a toast in bronze, set against a red-brick wall beside a dark glass door. Raise your own glass, even if it is only a water bottle, and wish him good health.
History & Significance
wromap.pl credits the sculptor Sebastian Obst and dates the dwarf to 15 October 2022, giving the address Jedności Narodowej 224 and noting that access may be restricted by a gate, fence or barrier. No second source for the date, the sculptor or any sponsor was found. The tradition began with the Orange Alternative, a playful 1980s protest movement whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.
