Story
This entry is named for a family of three, Baleausz, Balea and Balejątko. The photo shows a bearded dwarf with a pointed cap who sits up to his chest in a wide round basin, like a tub, with one hand raised and holding a small object and the other arm stretched out to the side. Copper-green patina colours his arms and beard. He looks as if he has just decided that bath time is the best part of the day.
History & Significance
Baleausz, Balea i Balejątko stand at Ślężna 132 in Borek. The sculptor is listed as Beata Zwolańska-Hołod; I found no source giving the date they appeared. The dwarf tradition began in 2001, when the Orange Alternative monument (Papa Krasnal) was unveiled on Świdnicka street, and the city has kept adding bronze dwarfs ever since. The sources I found do not say who commissioned or sponsored them.
Inspiration
The names suggest a bath-time theme: 'Balea' is also a well-known name of a bath and body-care brand, but the sources I found do not say whether that is the origin here or who sponsored the dwarfs. The photo shows only one figure, so I cannot describe the other two.
