Story
Instruktorek is a serious, bearded dwarf in a pointed cap with a calm, faraway look, the face of a teacher who has seen it all. He grips a curved metal handle in front of him, as if steering something or holding on to a rail, and a rolled brim lifts the cap over his brow. He stands in a corner of a pale granite-looking wall, as if standing guard over his post.
History & Significance
Instruktorek stands at al. Armii Krajowej 48r in Tarnogaj. The sculptor is listed as Piotr Makała; I found no source giving the date it appeared. The dwarf tradition began in 2001, when the Orange Alternative monument (Papa Krasnal) was unveiled on Świdnicka street, and the city has kept adding bronze dwarfs ever since. The sources I found do not say who commissioned or sponsored it.
Inspiration
The name means 'little instructor', so the dwarf appears to honour a teacher or trainer. The sources I found do not say what he instructs or who sponsored him, and the exact meaning of the curved handle is unknown. His closest neighbour, Oazuś, is only a few dozen metres away.
