Story

Pakuś can be found at Logistyczna 6, Bielany Wrocławskie, just south-west of Wrocław. The photo on wromap.pl shows a smiling dwarf with a big moustache who stands in an open cardboard-style box, holding a globe in one raised hand and a cube in the other. He holds a globe in one hand and a cube in the other.

History & Significance

No sculptor, sponsor or unveiling date could be found for him. Wrocław's bronze dwarfs trace back to the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; the city began commissioning bronze dwarfs in 2005, and local businesses and institutions have added many more since. Pakuś is one of the dwarfs outside the historic centre. Who commissioned this dwarf is not publicly documented in the sources we found.

Inspiration

His name looks like a play on pakować (to pack), which suits the box, globe and cube. Logistyczna 6 is listed on warehouse pages as an Amazon fulfilment building, but no source says who placed him there. The sources we found do not describe a specific story behind this dwarf.
