Story

Piwowar (the Brewer) lifts a huge beer mug in the air at Paprotna 4, in the Karłowice-Różanka area. In the photo he raises his mug on one side while his bearded face looks on happily, in front of a glass shopfront and some autumn leaves. It is the cheerful pose of a brewer proudly showing off his work.

History & Significance

wromap.pl lists Piwowar at Paprotna 4 with the sculptor Grzegorz Łagowski and the appearance date of 1 August 2016. The Polish Wikipedia list of Wrocław dwarfs also names Grzegorz Łagowski for Piwowar at Paprotna 4 and gives the Browar Prost (Prost brewery) as the place he is tied to, so the two sources agree. We did not find who commissioned him beyond that.

Inspiration

Piwowar is the Polish word for brewer, and the mug in his hand and the link to the Browar Prost make the theme clear: beer. He is a friendly nod to the craft of brewing.
