Story
Polidenciak takes dental hygiene very seriously. In the photo this bearded wizard-looking dwarf in a tall pointed cap holds a toothbrush right up to his long beard, with a little cup in front of him, as if he is giving it its morning clean. He lives inside a building at plac Grunwaldzki 15, about 1.9 km east of the Market Square, in front of a window of patterned glass. Brush up on your own routine before you say hello.
History & Significance
Wrocław's bronze dwarfs grew out of the Orange Alternative, a playful, non-violent protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls. Since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them. wromap.pl lists Polidenciak, also called PoliDentuś, as the work of Beata Zwolańska-Hołod, dates him to 15 November 2010 and says he stands inside a building at plac Grunwaldzki 15. Wikipedia's list of Wrocław dwarfs also credits Zwolańska-Hołod and gives the same address, with the dental centre Centrum Stomatologiczne "poliDENT" as his location.
Inspiration
Polidenciak's name and his toothbrush point to dentistry, and the only location source I found, Wikipedia's list of Wrocław dwarfs, names the dental centre Centrum Stomatologiczne "poliDENT" at this address. I found no source that explains the idea behind the dwarf himself. The photo shows a toothbrush, a cup and a long beard.
