Story
Reporter never stops working. He wears a pointed cap, holds a microphone up and wears a cheerful, curious smile, as if he has just spotted a visitor with an interesting story. He sits at pavement level by a brick wall on the Rynek, so he is easy to find and just the right height for a child to 'give an interview'. Stop for a moment, say who you are and where you come from, and make this dwarf's day.
History & Significance
Wromap.pl lists Reporter at Rynek Ratusz 25, about 54 m from the centre of the Market Square. I could not find his sculptor, unveiling date or sponsor in any source, so this page leaves them out. The tradition behind Wrocław's dwarfs began with the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.
Inspiration
Reporter is a tribute to journalists and the habit of asking questions; his microphone is the clue. The sources do not link him to a particular newspaper, radio or TV station, so no sponsor is claimed here.
