Story
Romantyk perches on a windowsill at ul. Więzienna 5, hugging a glossy red heart almost as big as himself. His bushy beard hangs down, his pointed cap leans back, and his eyes gaze up at something above the street, as if he is dreaming of someone special. The playful story is that the heart is for the first person who smiles at him, and that he turns a little pinker every time. Look up at the windowsill, wave to him, and make a heart shape with your hands.
History & Significance
Wromap.pl credits Grzegorz Łagowski and gives 23 April 2026 as the date Romantyk appeared, which makes him one of the newest dwarfs on the trail. He stands on ul. Więzienna among several dwarfs, including Więziennik (about 7 metres away), Italudek and Boss. The dwarf tradition he belongs to began with the Orange Alternative movement of the 1980s, and the first official bronze dwarfs were installed in 2005.

Walk north from the middle of the Market Square towards ul. Więzienna; Romantyk is roughly 260 metres from the centre, at no. 5. Look up at a windowsill for a dwarf holding a red heart, and use Więziennik (7 metres north) as a marker. The Stare Jatki bronze animals are a short walk to the west.
