Story
Wioślarz 3 — nicknamed Seba — pulls his oar with the focused intensity of someone who has trained all winter and will not let the crew down now. He is the third seat in Wroclaw's bronze rowing eight, stationed permanently at the riverside club, watching the real rowers come and go and quietly judging their technique.
History & Significance
Wioślarz 3 (Seba) is the third of eight rower dwarfs in the Wioślarze ensemble by sculptor Beata Zwolanska-Holod, installed at Wybrzeze Stanislawa Wyspianskiego 41 on 28 May 2016. He stands in the third position of the eight, his individual nickname Seba marking him out in the crew's roster.
Inspiration
Like all his crewmates, Wioślarz 3 was inspired by the Wroclaw rowing club and its athletes. The decision to give each rower an individual nickname humanises the ensemble and makes every figure a character worth finding.
