Story
Professor Złotko looks like a wizard-professor from a children's book: a wide-brimmed pointed hat, round wire glasses, a long neat beard and a calm, wise look. He stands by a white wall and a window on pale gravel-flecked paving. According to wromap.pl he is not alone - Perełka and Sreberko belong to the same group - though the photo we checked shows only the bespectacled professor.
History & Significance
Wromap.pl lists Profesor Złotko, Perełka and Sreberko as a group of three at Parkowa 27 in the Zacisze-Zalesie-Szczytniki district, made by Piotr Makała and dated 2 October 2018. Access may be restricted by a barrier, fence or gate. Wrocław's bronze dwarfs trace back to the Orange Alternative, a peaceful, absurdist protest movement founded in the city in 1986 by Waldemar Fydrych, whose members painted dwarfs on walls. Since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.
Inspiration
The names Złotko, Perełka and Sreberko mean something like 'little gold', 'little pearl' and 'little silver' in Polish - a treasure-themed trio. We found no source explaining why this group stands here or who sponsored it, so we do not claim one.
