Story
Zdrowiś is the picture of good health. He gives a big thumbs-up with one hand while the other hand is raised to his face, and the shirt on his chest carries a lettered logo. The bronze is dotted with turquoise patina, a bit like freckles, and he stands in front of a red-brick entrance.
History & Significance
Zdrowiś stands at Białowieska 91 in Pilczyce-Kozanów-Popowice Północne. The sculptor is listed as Tomasz Moczek; I found no source giving the date it appeared. Tomasz Moczek is the sculptor the city commissioned in 2005 to make its first five dwarfs of the modern series. The dwarf tradition began in 2001, when the Orange Alternative monument (Papa Krasnal) was unveiled on Świdnicka street, and the city has kept adding bronze dwarfs ever since. The sources I found do not say who commissioned or sponsored it.
Inspiration
The name means roughly 'Healthy' and the thumbs-up fits a health theme. The lettering on his shirt is partly legible in the photo and looks like a company or brand name, but I do not transcribe it, and the sources I found do not name a sponsor.
