Story
Energetyk Voltuś has both hands raised to his cap and a big, bearded grin, as if he has just spotted something exciting up on the wires. He stands outside the headquarters area of an electricity company on Powstańców Śląskich street, where the people who keep the lights on in Wrocław work. Think of him as the neighbourhood's own friendly guardian of the power supply.
History & Significance
Voltuś was unveiled on 7 May 2025 at Powstańców Śląskich 132, near the headquarters of Tauron Dystrybucja, which commissioned him. The city's report quotes the company saying it put up its own dwarf because it wants to be closer to its customers. That report does not name a sculptor, and wromap.pl does not either. The tradition began with the Orange Alternative, a playful 1980s protest movement whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.

The name comes from the volt, the unit of electrical voltage, and Energetyk means an energy-sector worker. According to the company, the dwarf was meant to watch over the safe delivery of electricity to the city, to get children interested in how energy works, and to honour the work of its employees.
