History & Significance
Juliusz IX stands at ks. Piotra Skargi 29/31 in Wrocław's Old Town. No sculptor or sponsor is publicly documented in the sources we found. Wrocław's bronze dwarfs grow out of the Orange Alternative, a playful, peaceful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; since 2005 the city has been filling its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them.
Inspiration
The 'IX' suggests a ruler's number, in the style of a king, but we found no source explaining the name, and no sculptor, date or sponsor is documented. The listening pose is what the photo shows.
