Story
Kazik is a cheerful dwarf boy in Szczepin, about 1.6 km north-west of the Market Square, and unlike most of Wrocław's dwarfs he lives indoors. In the photo he grins under a pointed cap, with one arm slung around a flat box that has two big round eyes and a toothy smile, like a cartoon character. They look like best friends who have just shared a joke. Imagine him showing visitors his gadget friend, delighted that someone has finally come inside to say hello.
History & Significance
Wrocław's bronze dwarfs grew out of the Orange Alternative, a playful, non-violent protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls. Since 2005 the city has filled its streets with bronze dwarfs, and there are now hundreds of them. wromap.pl gives the address Młodych Techników 58 and notes that this dwarf is inside a building. It names no sculptor and no date for him, and I found no other source that does.
Inspiration
No source I found explains who Kazik is or why he is paired with the cartoon-faced box. What the photo shows is a smiling boy with his arm around a boxy figure with big eyes. It might be a speaker, a screen or a robot, but I cannot tell which, and no source says.
