Story

PM-emek is a sturdy, dark-bronze dwarf with a thick beard, a round cap and bare shoulders, standing straight and calm with a faraway look. In the photo he stands against a smooth light wall on a dark paved floor. His two neighbours, Brokuś Mariusz and Termiś Syty i Kobuś Czysty, are only a few metres away, so the three of them make a small crowd.

History & Significance

According to wromap.pl, PM-emek was made by Tomasz Moczek and appeared on 13 February 2023 at ul. Na Ostatnim Groszu 3. Wrocław's dwarfs grew out of the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; the first bronze dwarf was placed on ul. Świdnicka in 2001, and hundreds have followed since. Tomasz Moczek is one of the sculptors of the first five dwarfs of 2005. We found no source that says who commissioned PM-emek or what the letters PM stand for.

Inspiration

His name looks like the initials PM joined to the dwarf ending -emek, but we found no source that explains the initials, so we do not guess. What the photo shows is a plain, solid figure with a big beard and no props.
