Story

Termiś Syty and Kobuś Czysty are two dwarfs who share one entry. The photo shows one of them: a bearded dwarf in a soft cap with a long, shaggy beard and bare shoulders, looking calmly upwards. The Polish adjectives in their names, syty ('well-fed') and czysty ('clean'), make the pair sound like a pair of cheerful opposites.

History & Significance

According to wromap.pl, Termiś Syty i Kobuś Czysty were made by Tomasz Moczek and stand at ul. Na Ostatnim Groszu 3; wromap.pl lists them as a group of two and gives no appearance date. Wrocław's dwarfs grew out of the Orange Alternative, a playful protest movement of the 1980s whose members painted dwarfs on city walls; the first bronze dwarf was placed on ul. Świdnicka in 2001, and hundreds have followed since. Tomasz Moczek is one of the sculptors of the first five dwarfs of 2005. We found no source that says who commissioned the pair or what their names refer to.
